What is Silver Falls MTB?
Silver Falls MTB is a youth mountain biking team dedicated to getting more kids having fun on bikes. We are part of the North Conference of the Oregon League, which is part of NICA.
How do we communicate?
The team uses to Remind app to communicate.
When and where are practices?
Our practice season is Mid-July through October at Silver Falls State Park. We practice twice a week and try to fit in team weekend rides around the state for fun adventures throughout the season.

What kind of rider should join?
Beginner riders, shredders, and everything in between. Racing is optional for all riders but fun is mandatory. Our skilled coaching staff offers basic skills training, adventure rides, and endurance training to help every rider meet their goals and have a good time doing it. Middle School and High School Students are eligible. Parents, Grandparents, and family are encouraged to participate in team events and the RACEs.
How do I join the Silver Falls Mountain Bike Team?

What do I need to join?
You should have a mountain bike with at least 26-inch wheels and gears. A helmet and water bottle/hydration pack is mandatory. The team has a few loaner bikes available for those who qualify; don’t let a silly bike get in the way of riding with your new friends!
What is the cost to join?
Joining the NICA Oregon League and our team is $300 plus a jersey. However, scholarships are given to those who qualify.
The first four (4) female riders will get FREE registration!!
When is registration?
NICA Registration starts April, practices start mid-July.

- September 21 , Sunday | Mt. Bachelor
- October 4, Saturday | Newport
- October 19, Sunday | Prineville – State Champs – North and South Conference same day

Is there free camping at the RACEs?
Most RACEs have a free place to pitch a tent or trailer. The team always tries to camp together, so get prepared for fun team camping weekends!
What’s the Pitzone? Where’s the Pitzone? WHO’S A PITZONE??
- Log into the NICA Pitzone to register for the team.
- At races, the Pit Zone is where you’ll find our team tents, family, lunch, and good times!
What does a RACE weekend look like?
A RACE weekend generally follows the same format:
- Arrive at the RACE location the night before, riders are encouraged to preride the course
- Wake up on the RACE morning, make your way over to the Pitzone where the team tents are setup
- The rider will do a warm up routine before they race, so make sure they are at the Pitzone at least 45 minutes before the RACE starts
- The rider will race, afterwards families can stick around for a team lunch, and to help pack up the Pitzone
How do I check RACE results?
The RACE results are printed and posted around 30 minutes to an hour after a RACE ends. The results will be available online, accessible through the Oregon League’s site, by the Monday after the event.
